The City of Long Beach has attempted to enhance its  historic character through a design ordinance.  Taking its cue from “the Railroad that Ran by the Tides” which once passed by this site,  the Twin Harbors Credit Union is reminiscent of historic railroad station architecture.  Entry is through a barrel vault leading into the vaulted lobby.  Teller stations are crafted of clear Douglas Fir beadboard. Interior wood columns define space and emphasize the historic feel. Behind the scenes are all the technical conveniences necessary to function in a modern world.
